Just fifteen days are away before the launch of a special agency for probes into corruption by high-ranking public officials, whose establishment is provided by law. The establishment of the special agency is an integral part of the prosecution reform. The special agency should be launched within the timetable set by law. The Judiciary Committee of the 21st National Assembly will be different from that of the 20th National Assembly that attempted to impede the establishment of the agency and the prosecution reform. The parliamentary committee needs to help the agency launched as set by law as well as the Prosecution carry out self-examination and self-reformation. The ruling DPK will complete the prosecution reform in the first half of the 21st National Assembly. In case that the United Future Party resists the establishment of the special investigation agency, the ruling DPK will prepare special measures which will include making amendment to the act establishing the special agency to make sure that the agency will be launched as soon as possible.

  The recent outbreak of a mass food poisoning incident at a kindergarten in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province has caused widespread apprehension and concern among parents. On behalf of the ruling party of the country, I need to apologize for adding more trouble to parents who have already had a lot of worries about the novel coronavirus. From now on, the leadership of the ruling DPK will encourage those engaging in the educational facilities to take care of children with all heart and provide them with full support to do so. Now we have to fight not only COVID-19 but also scorching summer heat. Once again, the government and the ruling party are encouraged to reexamine summer health issues. In addition, I would also like to ask health authorities, regional governments, and fellow Koreans to work together to overcome this summer.

 “국민 모두가 함께 코로나와 여름 무더위를 이겨나가길”

  법률로 정해진 고위공직자범죄수사처 출범이 불과 보름 앞으로 다가왔다. 공수처 설치는 검찰개혁의 가장 핵심적인 사항이다. 공수처는 법률이 정한 시간에 반드시 출범해야 한다. 지난 20대 국회에서 공수처 출범과 검찰개혁을 방해하던 법사위는 이제 없다. 21대 국회 법사위는 공수처를 법률이 정한대로 출범시키고 검찰이 자기 성찰과 자기 개혁을 할 수 있도록 해야할 것이다. 민주당은 21대 국회 상반기에 검찰개혁을 마무리 짓겠다. 만약 통합당이 공수처 출범을 방해한다면 민주당은 공수처법 개정을 포함한 특단의 대책을 마련해서라도 반드시 신속하게 공수처를 출범시키겠다. 최근 유치원에서 집단식중독 사태가 발생해서 학부모님들의 걱정과 우려가 크다. 그렇지 않아도 코로나 때문에 여러가지 걱정이 많으신데 이런 식중독 사고가 발생해서 학부모님들께 걱정을 끼치게 된 점에 대해 당을 대표해서 대단히 죄송스럽게 생각한다. 앞으로도 교육 시설에 종사하시는 모든 분들이 매우 어렵겠지만, 하나하나 아이들을 잘 보살피는 심정으로 최선을 다하도록 당에서도 독려하고 지원하도록 하겠다. 우린 이제 코로나뿐만 아니라 여름 무더위와도 싸워야 한다. 당정은 다시 한 번 여름철 보건관련 사안을 점검해 주시고 보건당국과 지자체, 국민 여러분 모두가 힘을 합해서 이번 여름을 이겨나가도록 함께 해주길 부탁드린다.
