“:DPK To Hold 2019 Policy Festival:

Party Members Are the Owners of the Party”

■ Lee Hae-chan, Chairman of the DPK   Regular sessions of the National Assembly this week will start with speeches delivered by the leader of the parliamentary negotiation body, which will then be followed by interpellation sessions and the parliamentary inspection of government offices. It is desirable for the ruling and opposition parties to work together to make the last regular session of the 20th National Assembly end with tangible results after its prolonged hiatus. As ruling party, the DPK will make our utmost efforts to commit the National Assembly to improving the livelihoods of the people, revitalizing the economy and implementing reforms.

  It is highly likely that working level negotiations between Pyongyang and Washington will resume by the end of this month. Prior to the expected talks, President Moon Jae-in will hold a ninth summit with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly at the end of this month in New York City. The ruling DPK will provide the government with our utmost support as we do our best to contribute to the success of the ninth summit between South Korea and the United States as well as the third talks between Pyongyang and Washington, thus pushing the peace process forward on the Korean Peninsula.

This Friday (Sept. 20) comes the celebration of a party event titled the 2019 “Democratic Party of Korea Policy Festival” where all 4 million party members are invited to participate, the first event of its kind in the party’s history. This policy festival will serve as a venue where policies put forth by the Moon administration and polices by the DPK’s national committees will be presented all together. In addition, we will proactively utilize on-line and off-line platforms to ensure that regular party members can take part in the processes of proposing policies on their own and discussing those policies publicly. The ruling DPK will be reborn as a party whose ownership belongs to each and every one of its members.

  이번 주부터 교섭단체 대표연설 , 대정부질문 , 국정감사로 이어지는 정기국회가 시작된다 . 남은 20 대 국회가 일하는 국회가 되어 유종의 미를 거둘 수 있도록 여야가 함께 노력해야 한다 . 여당은 민생국회 , 경제국회 , 개혁국회가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다 .  이달 말 북미 비핵화 실무협상이 재개될 것으로 전망된다. 북미 실무협상에 앞서서 문재인 대통령은 이달 하순 유엔총회에 가서 트럼프 대통령과 아홉 번째 정상회담을 가질 예정이다. 민주당은 정부를 적극적으로 뒷받침하고 9 차 한미정상회담 성공과 3 차 북미회담 성사를 견인해 한반도 평화 프로세스에 흔들림 없이 나아가도록 최선을 다하겠다.  이번 주 금요일, 정당 사상 최초로 4백만 전당원이 참여하는 ‘더불어 2019 정책페스티벌 ’이 개최된다 . 이번 정책페스티벌은 문재인 정부의 정책과 전국위원회에서 열띤 토론을 거쳐 올라온 정책들이 한 자리에 모이게 될 것이다. 또한 당원 여러분들이 직접 정책을 제안하고 공론화 과정에 참여할 수 있도록 온·오프라인 플랫폼을 적극 활용할 계획이다. 민주당은 당이 주인이 되는 정당으로 거듭나겠다 .
