December 12, 2018. Excerpt from Opening Statement of the Party’s Supreme Council Meeting

“Taxi driver’s case is sad, we are actively promoting negotiations to resolve conflicts”

 □ Party Chairperson Lee Hae-Chan   Unfortunately, there are safety accidents, and taxi drivers have set fire to themselves, so I give my sincere comfort to the two who have passed away. We will listen to the voice of the taxi industry seriously. We have known for some time that there are various difficulties, and once again we will listen to their words more seriously. In the party, lawmakers divided into 10 teams and decided to listen to the voice of the field in December and hold a workshop. We will also visit the areas where the employment crisis and the industrial crisis area are visited in many fields and the newlyweds are suffering from the housing problems. We will listen to their words and convey them to the government to reflect on the economic policy for next year. I feel like I have been in the office for a while and feel that it is very important to hear the story directly from the scene. I will pay particular attention to this next year.

"택시기사 사건 안타까워, 갈등해소 협상 적극추진"

  □ 이해찬 당대표  안타깝게도 안전사고도 나고 , 택시기사 분이 분신도 하고 그래서 , 유명을 달리하신 두 분에게 심심한 위로의 말씀을 드린다 . 택시업계의 소리를 저희가 심각하게 경청하도록 하겠다 . 여러 가지 어려움이 있다는 것을 저희가 그 동안 어느 정도는 알고 있었는데 , 다시 한 번 그분들의 말씀을 더 귀담아 듣는 자세로 당에서도 임하도록 하겠다 .  당에서는 의원들이 10 팀으로 나뉘어서 현장의 목소리를 12 월 중에 듣고 워크숍을 하기로 했다 . 보다 여러 분야에서 고용위기 , 산업위기 지역도 방문하고 , 신혼부부들이 주택문제로 어려움을 겪는 현장도 방문하고 해서 , 그분들의 말씀을 많이 들어 내년도 경제정책에 정부가 반영할 수 있도록 전달해 드리는 역할을 하려고 생각하고 있다 . 제가 취임하고 100 일이 조금 지났는데 느낀 바로는 역시 현장에서 직접 이야기를 듣는 것이 매우 소중하다는 것을 많이 느끼고 있다 . 각별히 내년도에 유념하도록 하겠다 .
