November 28, 2018. Excerpt from Opening Statement of the Party’s Supreme Council Meeting

“Issue of labor union attack, there should be no recurrence ... Police urges strict measures”    □  Party Chairperson Lee Hae-Chan   Yesterday morning there was a terrorist throwing a firebomb at Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. I really could not help being astonished. Even if the Supreme Court ruling is dissatisfied, it can not be imagined, despite the fact that it can be challenged through the procedure. I think that we should never relapse because it is a serious act of destroying the community. Also, unions have been assaulting corporate executives, and this should never happen again. I emphasize that the Police also has a great responsibility for not committing it well. I strongly urge the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and the National Police Agency to take measures to prevent this situation from happening again.  Today, the Ubuntu Foundation for Social Solidarity Organization launches with a labor-management agreement. The Ubuntu Foundation's launch ceremony for financial industry union will be held at the National Assembly today. Ubuntu means "I am us. Because you are, I am." I would also like to attend, but it seems to be a leading case for labor and management to work together. We have been active in the struggle for our union, and the party will give special support with much care as it is a good event to share and have solidarity with each other.     

“노조 폭행 사태, 재발 안돼…경찰 대책 엄정 촉구”

  어제 아침에 대법원장 출근 차량에 화염병을 던지는 테러가 있었습니다. 정말 경악하지 않을 수 없었습니다. 대법원 판결에 불만이 있다 하더라도 절차를 밟아서 이의를 제기할 수 있음에도 불구하고 상상도 할 수 없는 사태가 벌어졌습니다. 공동체를 파괴하는 중대한 행위이기 때문에 절대로 재발하면 안 된다고 생각합니다. 또 노동조합원들이 기업의 임원들을 폭행하는 사태가 발생했는데, 이런 일도 절대로 다시 발생해서는 안 됩니다. 그걸 저지하지 못한 경찰에게도 큰 책임 있다는 점을 강조합니다. 행정안전부라든가 경찰청은 이런 상황이 다시 발생하지 않도록 대책을 세울 것을 엄중히 촉구합니다.   오늘 사회연대기구를 위한 우분투재단이 노사 합의로 출범합니다. 사무금융노조의 우분투재단 출범식이 국회에서 있을 예정입니다. 우분투는 ‘나는 곧 우리, 네가 있어 내가 있다’는 아프리카어를 뜻한다고 합니다. 저도 참석하겠습니다만 노사가 함께 할 수 있는 선도적인 사례가 된 것 같습니다. 그동안 우리 노조가 투쟁 위주로 활동해 왔는데 서로 나눔과 연대하는 좋은 사례를 만드는 행사라서 당에서도 각별하게 관심을 가지고 지원하도록 하겠습니다.
