“Nation-like Nation: 10th National Election Polling Committee”

Today is the last meeting of nation-like nation's National Election Polling Committee. I would like to send words of appreciation again to the fellow citizens for sending us your overwhelming support. The results of the local election will be a "victory of the greatest people" rather than "victory of Democratic Party." Democratic Party promises to support the people with a more modest attitude in addition to the public sentiment revealed by the highest turnout in history of local elections.

In the 6.13 local election, our people have chosen the future of peace and prosperity of public welfare. They have boldly separated from localism, color theory and the Cold War era. Also, they created a solid partner to support the Moon Jae-in administration. They certainly caned the forces that seized the state affairs. Democratic Party will take the lead in building a nation-like nation, strong local government as a ruling party in power worthy of name. I will do my best to open a new era of peace and prosperity.

The victory of the election is not the end, but the new beginning. I will not be proud of the high approval ratings and the polling rate, but I will keep up with resolving the resolutions that the Moon administration, the local government, the National Assembly, and Democratic Party have been building up as a team. I would like to express my gratitude to all the people who made successful national governmental power of Moon Jae-in administration.

■ 추미애 상임선대위원장

오늘이 마지막 나라다운 나라 중앙선대위 회의이다. 국민 여러분께서 압도적인 지지를 보내주신 데 대해 다시 한 번 감사의 말씀을 올린다. 이번 지방선거 결과는 ‘더불어민주당의 승리’라기보다 ‘위대한 국민의 승리’가 될 것이다. 역대 지방선거 최고 투표율로 드러난 민심에 더불어민주당은 더욱 겸손한 자세로 국민을 받들겠다고 약속드린다.

6.13 지방선거에서 우리 국민은 평화와 민생 번영의 미래를 선택해주셨다. 지역주의와 색깔론, 냉전의 시대와 과감하게 결별해 주셨다. 또한 문재인정부를 뒷받침할 든든한 동반자를 만들어주셨다. 국정을 발목 잡던 세력들에게는 확실하게 회초리를 들어주셨다. 더불어민주당은 명실상부한 집권여당으로 나라다운 나라, 든든한 지방정부를 만드는데 앞장서겠다. 평화와 번영의 새 시대를 여는데도 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.

선거 승리는 끝이 아니라 새로운 시작이다. 높은 지지율과 득표율에 자만하지 않고 문재인정부와 지방정부, 국회와 더불어민주당이 원팀으로 산적한 현안들을 챙겨나가겠다. 문재인정부의 성공적인 국정동력을 만들어준 국민 여러분께 다시 한 번 감사말씀 드린다.
