DPK Will Opt for Semi-private Bus Operation System as Party Policy”

Bus drivers’ unions are set to stage a nation-wide strike on May 15. In response, the government and ruling Democratic Party of Korea are now in talks with bus drivers to come up with a solution. Bus drivers have been facing many difficulties; however, a scheduled all-out strike is like holding the transportation used by ordinary people as hostage. If they push ahead with a strike as planned, it will cause great troubles to most Koreans, so our party is keeping a sharp eye on developments. We will exert every effort to prevent a bus strike by continuing talks with driver unions and bus operators. In the long run, I think it is desirable for the party to adopt a partially private bus operation system as party policy

버스노조가 파업을 예고하고 있다 . 현장의 의견을 경청하면서 당정 간에 대책을 마련하도록 하겠다 . 여러 가지 사정이 있겠지만 , 서민들이 많이 이용하는 대중교통 수단을 가지고 총파업을 예고한다는 것은 국민들에게 걱정을 끼치는 일이라서 당으로서도 예의 주시하지 않을 수 없다 . 버스노조와도 대화하고 , 회사 측과도 대화해서 가능한 한 발을 묶지 않도록 최대한 노력하겠다 . 그러면서 앞으로는 전체적으로 대중교통수단은 준공영제를 실시하는 쪽으로 당의 정책방향을 잡아야 될 것 같다 .
