“Manufacturing industry should innovate by creating smart industrial parks”

   □  Lee Hae-chan, Chairman of the DPK   The construction of the “Nambu Inland High-speed Railway” is surely a long-cherished project for the Gyeongsang region due to its instrumental role in achieving balanced national development. On the heels of the government’s decision regarding the waiver of a preliminary feasibility study, the project has finally obtained approval to break ground. The Democratic Party of Korea will provide the best support possible to speed up the completion of a basic design for the project, which in turn will hasten construction. The South Gyeongsan region, one of the major manufacturing hubs in Korea, is considered to be an area facing an employment and industrial crisis. Many manufacturers in this region are now struggling due to sluggish shipbuilding and auto industries. Instead of degenerating into a bygone industry, manufacturing in the region should take a new leap towards innovation by creating smart industrial parks and smart factories.   Once the high-speed railway comes into operation, it will take only two hours to get to the Gyeongsang region from the metropolitan areas. This time-saving transportation will do great good for a variety of local industries and tourism. As far as my personal experience is concerned, in the past, it took many hours for me to travel to Tongyeong or Geojedo Island. However, chances are that the completion of the inland high-speed railway will most likely vitalize the local tourism industry. When the South Gyeongsang provincial government puts forward a well-thought business plan designed to reactivate the local economy, the DPK will support it as best we can.     

"제조업, 스마트산단으로 만드는 혁신 해내야"

  □ 이해찬 당대표 남부내륙고속철도사업이 아마 이 지역의 가장 오래된 균형발전 숙원사업이라고 할 수 있는데 정부에서 예타면제를 통해서 드디어 이제 사업을 시행할 수 있는 단계가 시작이 된다 . 말씀하신 것처럼 기본설계를 빨리해서 조기착공할 수 있도록 당에서 최대한 지원을 하도록 하겠다 . 그리고 경남지역은 고용 .산업위기지역이라고 말씀한 것처럼 우리나라 제조업이 가장 많이 집약적으로 모인 지역 중 하나인데 , 조선이라든가 자동차라든가 이런 쪽의 산업이 부진해가지고 여러가지 제조업체들이 어려움을 많이 겪고 있다 . 이 지역에서 제조업이 사양산업이 아니고 , 보다 새로운 , 도약하는 산업으로 발전할 수 있도록 스마트 산단을 만들고 스마트팩토리를 만드는 , 새로운 하나의 혁신을 해내는 사업을 해내야한다고 생각하고 있다 ,  남부내륙고속철도가 개통이 되면 수도권에서 2 시간이면 접근할 수 있기 때문에 그런 여러 가지 시간상의 축약을 통해서 나오는 여러 가지 산업효과 , 관광효과가 많이 나온다 . 저도 통영을 그전에 한 번 가봤는데 전에는 통영 , 거제를 가려면 시간이 매우 많이 걸렸는데 이렇게 내륙고속철도가 만들어지면 아마 관광사업도 활성화될 수 있다고 생각한다 . 전반적인 이 지역의 경제활성화를 위한 사업계획을 경상남도에서 잘 구상해서 말씀을 해주시면 저희가 최선을 다해서 뒷받침하도록 하겠다 .
