“Ruling of the compensation for conscription is considered never too late... We should put a stop to creating a diplomatic conflict”

Yesterday there was a very important ruling in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that the Japanese companies should make competition to the victims of forced labor in Japan. In 1965, the Korea-Japan claim agreement meant that the claim did not perish. In the meantime, due to the long delays in the judicial farming proceedings, three of the victims of the four died and one remained. One of the victims came to the Court yesterday and heard the judgment directly. The Supreme Court has made a very important decision on the issue that has been a long-time affair, but it seems likely that this issue will become a diplomatic issue between Korea and Japan. It seems to me that there is more active communication between the two countries so that the dialogue between the two countries will be more fully realized for the development of Korea-Japan relations.

"징용배상 판결 만시지탄…외교 갈등 비화는 막아야“

어제 대법원에서 매우 중요한 판결이 있었다 . 대법원이 일제 강제징용 피해자에 대해 일본기업에 배상을 하라는 판결을 했다 . 1965 년 한일 청구권협정으로 배상청구권이 소멸되지 않았다는 뜻이다 . 그 동안의 사법농단과정에서 재판이 오랫동안 지연되는 바람에 네 분의 피해자중 세 분이 돌아가시고 한 분이 남으셨는데 어제 법정에 한 분이 나오셔서 판결을 직접 들으셨다 . 만시지탄이지만 오랫동안 끌어온 사안에 대해 대법원이 매우 중요한 판단을 했기 때문에 앞으로 이 문제가 한일 간 외교적 문제로 비화될 가능성이 높은 것 같다 . 아무쪼록 당에서도 그렇고 정부에서도 한일관계 발전을 위해 조금 더 충분히 양국 간 대화가 이뤄지도록 지금보다도 활발한 소통이 있어야 될 것 같다 .
