“The DPK takes on a platform political party by opening a Bulletin Board

for Supporting Party Members and a Voting System”

We have just test-operated a bulletin board for supporting members of the Democratic Party of Korea and a new voting system. As a result, after a verification process, any supporting party member will be able to cast a vote online. It will be soon determined that a system in which all members with party membership are entitled to vote will be introduced as a special party rule for party nomination for upcoming general elections. As a result, the DPK is taking a step toward a platform political party and electronic democracy. As promised in the last party convention that the DPK would become a platform party and establish a fair and transparent nomination system, we are drawing near to the goals. We will speed up the proposed party modernization process and make efforts to enlarge the participation of supporting party members and establish a democratic system for part operation.

The National Assembly has been idle for two months since the last plenary session was held on April 5 due to the Liberty Korea Party’s irresponsible boycott of parliamentary activities. Sufficient discussions are needed in the Assembly to tackle pressing issues such an outbreak of Africa Swine Fever. In addition, a pile of other important bills on the people’s livelihoods is also waiting for votes in the Assembly, including a minimum wage act and the framework act on small-and-medium and independent businesses. A standing consultative group of representatives from the ruling and opposition parties and the government has yet to be launched. As such, I am sincerely asking the main opposition LKP again to return to the National Assembly immediately, thereby allowing proceedings of a supplementary budget and important other bills to stabilize the people’s livelihoods to be passed and implemented.

조금 전에 민주당 권리당원게시판과 투표시스템을 시험 운영해봤다. 이제 권리당원 인증만 거치면 온라인투표도 가능하다. 조만간 전원투표시스템으로 총선공천룰 특별당규를 최종적으로 확정지을 예정이다. 이를 통해 민주당은 플랫폼정당과 전자민주주의에 한발 다가섰다. 지난 번 전당대회에서 플랫폼정당을 만들고 투명하고 공정한 공천시스템을 구축하겠다고 약속을 드렸는데 어느 정도 목표를 달성했다. 앞으로 후속 현대화 사업을 속도감 있게 추진하고, 권리당원의 참여확대와 민주적인 정당운영체계를 확립하도록 하겠다.

자유한국당의 무책임한 등원거부로 지난 4월 5일 본회의 끝으로 두 달째 국회 문이 닫혀 있다. 아프리카돼지열병 등 긴급한 현안을 다루려면 국회에서 여야 간 충분한 논의가 이뤄져야 한다. 최저임금법, 소상공인자영업기본법 등 민생현안은 수없이 많이 쌓여 있다. 여-야-정 국정상설협의체도 열리지 못하고 있다. 자유한국당에 다시 말씀드린다. 오늘부터라도 입장을 바꿔서 하루빨리 국회에 등원해 산적한 민생문제, 추경안 처리문제를 꼭 다루도록 해주시길 다시 한 번 정말로 간곡하게 부탁의 말씀을 드린다.
