The Minjoo Party of Korea Announces Its New Official English
Name: Democratic Party of Korea (DPK)

officially merged with the non-parliamentary Democratic Party today. The items
on the agenda such as merging parties and changing its name were passed
unanimously during the first Central Committee meeting.
The Minjoo Party of Korea has decided to keep its current Korean name - The
Bul Er Min Joo Dahng -, but the party
announced that ‘Democratic Party of Korea (DPK)’ will be used as its official
According to Choo Mi-ae, the head of Democratic Party of
Korea, the integration between two parties means a declaration of hope and the
launch of grand march toward administrative change by overcoming the division
and desperation felt by the people who are losing hope as they stand on the
edge of life.
